Now just over a year in operation, multi-faceted artist Alex Eveson‘s Western Lore imprint has started to cement its identity in the vast label expanse that is the Jungle / Drum & Bass landscape.

Publishing the emerging recording outfit’s first compilation long player, Eveson — who has adopted the music making moniker Dead Man’s Chest in recent years to showcase his drummier Future Jungle projects — assembles an all-star cast of Drumfunk studiosmiths on the inaugural volume of the Blunted Breaks series of LPs.

One of two tracks on the aforementioned sublime assemblage credited to London producer Cavanaut, “Vanishing Point” is a breathtaking excursion into sonic Nirvana at 150 BPM.  Complex drum breaks are sequenced to perfection, working seamlessly with warm humming basslines to lay a rock solid rhythmic foundation across the tune’s near eight and a half minute run time.  Incandescent synth sections, Jazzy saxophone notes, and a myriad of atmospheric elements round out one of the most pleasurable listens of 2018.
